No matter what you do in your life, you have to put in the work. You can either put in the most effort you can, or you can put in zero effort; Hazleton’s Angelo Seach is a prime example of this as he surges to the forefront of the fashion scene. Starting his business with $200 and a dream, Surge has been one of the biggest names for artist merchandise and fashion for almost 4 years, leaving every client beyond satisfied. While the success is visible in the present, the start of it all wasn’t easy, and the road ahead is just as rocky, but with enough drive and passion for whatever you’re doing, you’ll be at the forefront of it all.

Everyone has to start somewhere when it comes down to being an entrepreneur; for him, it was being a DJ in the seventh grade. He would get recruited for house parties, school dances, and even weddings, which is something he continued to pursue throughout college. On the side of that, he had a variety of side-hustles to keep his name on the move, including his inspiration: re-selling designer clothes. Surge states, “After seeing how much value these random brands could bring to me, I thought wow if that can do that than so can I, and I did.”, and from that point he worked to start the brand that artists know and love today; he even got an official trademark for it!

With great success, unfortunately, comes hard times; and there certainly was a rough patch for Surge. There came a time where the sales started to decrease, as well as his motivation. In the midst of coming up with ideas to keep his mind productive, he came across one thing that was in high demand: merchandise for artists, and from that, his company became Surge Merchandise Execution Agency, or MEA. One of their main things they’re known by may be clothes, but they do so much more, such as website development, marketing, and even more. Seach quotes, “Your time will come, but you can’t expect an overnight success. This goes with most things; it takes time to build yourself up.”; that’s wisdom you can’t get anywhere else in the world.

Sure, he enjoys making his clothes and working the company, but everyone has their hobbies and loves outside of their passion or living. Between making amazing clothes and providing services for artists that they never had, to maintaining his business, Surge is always cooking; literally! “I love food and learning new recipes I can try at home. Especially chicken, I can’t get enough.” He quotes, showing that not only his expertise is within the business, but he can show off his talents in the kitchen, something not everyone can always master.

Looking back at the business aspect, Seach is proud to say that he’s had his business for close to four years, but he should also be proud to say that he did it all himself, every cent and every second.
